Dr. Victor Katz, M.D, F.A.A.O.S

Victor Katz, M.D., F.A.A.A.O.S., is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with special expertise in complex spinal surgery and minimally invasive spinal surgery serving partients at his practice, OrthoSpine NY in South Ozone Park, Brooklyn and Mineola in New York.
Dr. Katz treats a variety of spine problems, such as degenerative scoliosis, spinal stenosis, compression fractures, back pain, herniated disk and sciatica. He received his undergratuate degree, Bachelor of Science in Biology, from Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at City College. New York, NY, where he was on the Dean´s List. Dr. Katz obtained his medical degree at SUNY Medical School at Stony Brook, Sttony Brook, NY. At Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY, Dr. Katz served as Chief Resident in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He then went on to a General Surgery Internship at Cabrini Medical Center in New York, NY where he received the Outstanding Intern of the Year. At St. Vincent´s Catholic Medical Center, in Jamaica, NY, Dr. Kats served as a Chief Resident in Orthopedics. He then did a Spine Fellowship at the Spine Institute at Seaton Medical Center in Daly City, CA. Dr. Katz authored an article in the Jornal of Spinal Disorders & Techniques entitled “The Sacroiliac Joint: A Potential Cause of Pain After Lumbar Fusion to the Sacrum” in 2003. In addition, as a Diplomat of both the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Katz also is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeonsm North American Spine Society, American Medical Association and the Medical Society of the State of New York. Dr. Katz is fluent in Russian, English and medical Spanish.
